Life insurance gives you a little extra protection on top of your veterinary care insurance. It includes coverage if your dog or cat becomes so seriously ill or injured that, according to veterinary medical expertise, it needs to be put down. Life insurance for breeders has a maximum amount of 50 000 SEK for dogs and 20 000 SEK for cats. Compensation is paid if your dog or cat dies as a result of an injury or illness.

Your dog insurance (the veterinary care insurance) is renewed on a yearly basis (but Lassie has no commitment period). The renewal is automatic. You can keep your dog's insurance for its entire life.

The Life Insurance add-on is automatically renewed each insurance year, along with the dog insurance. The Life Insurance expires when the dog is 8-12 years old, depending on the breed. (See Terms & Conditions to find the limit for your specific breed.)

The Breeder's Insurance is also an add-on. It is valid for one year at a time and the entire period is paid in advance. When the period is over, the insurance is automatically renewed.

You can absolutely insure your senior dog with Lassie! Old dogs may need to visit the vet more often than young dogs. To help your dog when it gets older, it is therefore good to keep the dog insurance. But since the risk of the dog needing care increases with age, the price of dog insurance also increases as your dog gets older.

No, there is no age limit on the veterinary care coverage. However, older animals may have a higher risk of health issues, which can result in a higher insurance price.

For life insurance, there is an age limit. The life insurance for your dog will expire, depending on breed, in the insurance year the dog turns eight, ten, or twelve.
